Can We Provide Similar Protection to Our Families and Ourselves?

The man in this photograph is holding a fully automatic assault rifle. He is not engaged in a military action. He is not engaged in a police action. He is holding this weapon for the sole purpose of protecting one man. Oddly enough, the man he is protecting believes that you and I should not have access to the less powerful, less lethal semi-automatic civilian version of this weapon so that we can provide similar protection to our families and ourselves.
