There's just a certain fatness you have to require in a rifle. You cannot keep downsizing bullets forever, like NATO is trying to do. It really blew my mind when the USA put down their Colt .45. That gun is and always will be a honey which is why I have one. The AK line is hardcore!

This is really good information on the Arsenal, I have never heard of them. I have a sig ar type in 223 and an Hugo ak. I can't bring myself to buy a glock pistol yet, they feel like crap and are dangerous if carried with one in the chamber. The ak feels like crap too but it is a battle proven weapon and I have never seen holes in a gun store floor from Police officers like I have with the Glock. If you check it out, you will find a lot of accidental shootings with Glocks, one Pro Football player included.

My AK's an old Romanian military rifle. Hasn't jammed after a few hundred rounds. That's why AKs have been beating the hell out of AR for 50 years

Milled receivers are nice but don't dicount the stamped, I have a Hungarian AMD 65 Paratrooper built on an Arsenal 1.7mm stamped receiver built by a gunsmith for himself w/double hook trigger(important upgrade for any AK) and some other refinements. 12" barrel and 4in" suppressor and just 25 inches long folded, buttersmooth and light trigger pull, and just in case you didn't know-with the lacquer coated rounds and a lttle practice with your finger behind the trigger, you can dump a 30 round clip in seconds, that's a blast!

Check out the Saiga ak's, I bought one and I love it. Its plenty accurate, shoots very well, looks great(not used and beat up),very inexpensive compared to AR's and import AK's and has that AK reliability.

I got an AK-47 in the Bush years before the Obama admin. double the prices of them and I love it. It is a Romanian one but built very well. I will take an AK-47 over an AR-15/M-16/M-4(sic) any day of the week!

I don't get it. Why would anyone buy an AK in .223 instead of just buying a superior AR 15? The whole reason to get the AK-47 is for the 7.62x39 caliber.

mr b as for the most accurate 7.62X39 rifle im not shure ,but milled reciver rifles are defanatly more accurate than a stamped reciver AK.such as the (wasr 10)so you can go for a SKS they have milled steel recivers ..or a VZ 58 ..or one of many milled ak 47 rifles...you can also get a AR-15 in 7.62X39mm (M16 style)..personally I own a (wasr10 AK47),(yugo SKS),and a (AR-15 in .223/5.65) I think the sks is defanitly more accurate than my AK and the sks has a much eaiser to work saftey mechanisim ..but the ak is eaiser to field strip and the magazines work better..juist my 2 cents...if u do some reasearch you'll find more 7.62X39 rifles that I havent mentioned

Only AK I like is my IMI Galil AR. I like 5.56mm too because it shoots so flat out to 250 yards. Hammer forged chrome lined 16" barrel, milled receiver, FN folding stock, tritium flip up night sights, and 35rd mags. My rifle can shoot 1 moa and thats good enough for the 5.56mm since it can only fragment to about 200 yards. Certain parts can interchange with original AK47 with some mods. If you want the best AK this is it. Gonna be hard to find original Israeli made ones. Only the Valmet M76 and FN FNC are the other 5.56mm with AK action, good luck finding them. The Sig 556 has similar long stroke piston AK action. For me reliability comes first in these types of weapons. I can tell you they never jam.
